Wells Fargo & Company Awards $400,000 Community Investment to Brothers Redevelopment to Build New Supportive Housing Community Along East Colfax Avenue

Brothers Redevelopment has been awarded a $400,000 community investment from Wells Fargo & Company to support the development of Valor II, a new permanent supportive housing community in east Denver.

Brothers will use the generous community investment to begin the site planning and design process for “Valor II,” a new 40- to 45-unit permanent supportive housing community that will be located at 1475 Trenton St., and that will provide stable, affordable housing for individuals who have experienced homelessness and people with acquired brain injuries or related disabilities. Valor II will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments, a community space, resident storage, and laundry facilities. Brothers Property Management will oversee day-to-day operations of the community.

Valor II will serve as a second phase of development to Brothers Redevelopment’s successful 72-unit permanent supportive housing community, Valor on the Fax, located at 7900 E. Colfax Ave.   With services provided by the Brain Injury Association of Colorado (BIAC), Valor on the Fax opened in 2023 to combine affordable housing with voluntary supportive services to help residents maintain stable housing, seek behavioral health counseling, access community resources and improve long-term well-being.

It requires tailored, compassionate support,” said Jeff Martinez, President of Brothers Redevelopment. “Thanks to Wells Fargo’s continued generosity, Valor II will allow us to provide new housing along the East Colfax corridor to help our neighbors in need.”

Wells Fargo & Company and Wells Fargo Foundation have supported Brothers Redevelopment’s efforts to develop affordable housing in Colorado since 2015. In 2015, Wells Fargo Foundation awarded the organization $212,500 to help develop Paris Family Apartments, an affordable housing community for families at 1702 Paris St. in Aurora. Wells Fargo Foundation also provided a $200,000 grant in 2019 to help launch development of Valor on the Fax.

Brothers Redevelopment is a trusted, affordable housing provider and developer.  The agency this month plans to begin construction on Wagoner on the Creek, a 60-unit permanent supportive housing community being developed on Chambers Road in Aurora, in partnership with Arapahoe County. The community will provide housing and supportive services for justice-involved individuals returning to the community.

Valor II is currently in the planning phase, and a construction timeline has not yet been announced.
